The Stroke of Midnight

I guess I finally
Reached that point of no return
Never thought Id go there
Swore to myself
That it would never happen
But nothing lasts forever
Not the Poet
Not even the Outlaw
And never
Together forever
It was so hard
To let go
Closing a chapter
Ending a story
But I had no choice
I had to survive the Fire
I had no chance
No turning back
The stroke of Midnight
Was the point of no return
I know you'll never understand
And you'll never forgive me
Maybe I wont forgive myself
But it all came full circle
And I had to say goodbye.

Which road taken ( or not )

I personally hate Election Years. I'm not a fan of politics in the first place. Politicians lie whenever their lips move, this is just a given. If they promise it, you can rest assured, it will never happen. Ive done my civic duty and voted, and for the most part never really beleived my singel vote ever counted for anything more than time and gas wasted to get to and from the polling location.

But the World is changing.

This election year has proven to be one of the most interesting so far, and it's far from over. There have been many firsts in this race, and were probably in for a few more. Is the world ready for change? Im not sure. What about the candidates.... McCain would be like another four years of GWB, nobody wants that. Clinton is a woman and that in itself is so far a deviation of the norm I wonder if the male oriented world would allow it. Obama, I wonder if the white male oriented world would allow even that. They all have their strengths and weaknesses that they bring to the table, some greater than others.

The world itself seems poised on the brink of falling. War, famine, great disasters, the economy, the oil is running out, people are losing their homes, people cannot afford health care. It is historical that great civilizations fall, and are reborn. Is this destiny or fate? And is there anythign that can be done about it.

We sit with great anticipation.... perhaps we should stand in defiance. Which road will we travel in the coming months as we walk toward out fate , a fate that may change the lives of everybody on this planet forever....

Guinevere

She stood in the doorway
A ghostly image
Of another time
They had forgotten her
As the seasons changed
As did she
She rose in the springtime
And fell
Like the silent leaves of autumn
In her winter of discontent
She wandered about
Not knowing where or when
Her time would come
Her passions broke
With the storms
The wind and the rain
Were her entourage
They surrounded her
And her wisdom grew
In all her ancient ways
She was the dawn
And the sunset
And time was her lover

Artos

A great dragon rose
From the mist of time
To fulfill a destiny
A sacred space
To be King
Amongst the pages of time
He stood alone among many
Mystery surrounded him
And in his destiny was light
And in that light
Was his silent darkness
His cross to bear
For there is
A price for everything
When you are born of magick
As he paid with each breath
The loneliness grew deeper
As the days grew shorter
And there was no love
In this darkness
And his search never ended
His soul never quenched
Nor the longings fulfilled
So Artos will always be
The Once and Future King
The Great Dragon
Of Legend and Lore

Camelot

Was it fact or fantasy
This great place of magick
With its great towers
And its secrets
It arose from nothing
Except desire
For strength and unity
And destiny's path
Would take it into history
And into the hearts of time
The cornerstone of magick
Was strength in numbers
As the souls of yesterday
Became the foundations of tomorrow
And with all its mystery
Camelot fell
Into the mist of silence
Avalon
Legend and folklore
Never to be found
Past the pages of history
Of Kings and Queens
And Knights
Of mystery and magick

The King of Swords

This comes from a dream I had recently that involved two tarot decks in my pocket. I was in a huge courtyard with The Lady Gwen, walking as if in Court... With hundreds of others dressed in their finest Renaissance Clothes...as was a stranger with dark hair and with piercing eyes and and intensity Ive encountered a few times in my travelings. I'm always drawn to these intense individuals like a drug. He challenged me and I stared him down and told him that I would always come out the victor. I smiled as I pinned him back against the wall and stared into his eyes, and he looked back into mine and surrendered. Among the regular assortment of guests, there were three hybrids in court that day. One dressed in black and two in gray with feathers and mannerisms that were quite catlike....visitors to the realm. The Lady Gwen and I walked among the people and as they embraced us, we commented on their outfits like we were in some sort of Medieval Festival and we were judging them. The Lady Gwen, as always had first comment and I nodded in agreement ( it was safer ) as she is The Queen and she always will be....some things even time itself cannot vanquish. So in the brief time space of the dream, I was reminded that I was the card that was pulled out of the pocket of the coat.... sometimes a Knight, sometimes a King, but always a Sword. Sometimes what we wish to see and what we are in fact, can be very different. But in the long run, it's best to understand ones strengths and weaknesses in order to understand who we truly are. It is in this understanding that we may create change to put ourselves on a more enlightened pathway.
