Alice Irene Farquer, 93, of Wilmington, died Monday (Dec. 21, 2009) at Kettering Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Farquer, who died Feb. 20, 1972.
She was born Oct. 15, 1916, in Miamisburg Ohio, daughter of the late Lewis and Nora Gregory Ridinger.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary and Eagles Aerie 1224 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by four children, Jack Jr. (Kay) Farquer of Clarksville, Barbara (Wayne) Mitchell of New Vienna, Vern (Pamela) Farquer of New Vienna and Michael Loy Farquer of Centerville; eight grandchildren, Schoen Champion of Wilmington, Kelly (Jeff) Gambill of Clarksville, Tim Sliney of North Carolina, Jack Sliney of Florida, Vernon Farquer Jr. of Oklahoma, Russell Farquer of Oklahoma, Tina Farquer of Enon and Lynn McKenzie of Florida; and 12 great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William Lewis Champion and Laurin Champion; four daughters, Ula Mae Hunter, June Scheerer, Mona Jeanne Jones and Frankie (Champion) Barness; a sister, Ruby May Wilson; and four brothers, Robert Ridinger, Burnett Ridinger, William Ridinger and Arnold Ridinger.
She leaves behind two furry friends Tom & Jerry Farquer of Wilmington.
